In normal operation, the engine is divided into four stages: air intake, compression, combustion and emission. I. Air intake stage In the air intake stage, the engine should get enough air. The air will enter the inside of the engine from the air intake, filtered through the air filter, fly into the air flow meter (MAF) and then into the throttle valve. The throttle valve is a key component that controls the engine speed, which can adjust the amount of air entering the engine. When the driver steps on the accelerator pedal, the computer system will detect the position of the throttle valve through the sensor and control the opening size of the valve.II. After the compression stage, after the intake stage, the piston in the cylinder will move up, compressing the air and fuel mixture. The high-pressure fuel nozzle will inject fuel into the cylinder, and the amount of fuel injected will be controlled by the accelerator pedal. The fuel will be compressed in the next compression phase, so that its temperature and pressure reach the conditions required for combustion. III. In the combustion stage, after the compression stage, the ignition plug will be ignited, triggering a series of explosions, burning the fuel and air mixture, thus releasing a large amount of energy. This process is very complex and requires the precise coordination of various parts. After combustion, the piston in the cylinder will move down under the action of gas pressure, generating kinetic energy and pushing the vehicle forward. IV. In the discharge stage, after the end of combustion, the exhaust gas is discharged into the exhaust pipe, enters the special exhaust system, is treated and discharged into the atmosphere.The exhaust gas emitted by the engine includes a certain amount of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic matter and other harmful substances, which pose a great threat to the environment and human health. Therefore, governments have successively issued a series of environmental protection regulations requiring engines to have measures to control exhaust emissions. In a word, the working principle of the engine is to mix high-energy fuel and air, release energy after high pressure and high temperature, and then use it successfully under the drive of the piston. Although the mechanical principle is relatively simple, its realization process is very complex and requires the precise collaboration of various components.
